The Aventura Store Marks the Fourth U.S. Location for the Popular Danish Brand

MIAMI - FLEXA Furniture, an environmentally conscious Denmark-based kids furniture maker, is scheduled to open its second Eastern U.S. location at the popular Aventura Mall in Miami, towards the end of January 2009. The nearly 1,400-square-foot FLEXA Shop, will be situated on the second level across from Limited Too.

FLEXA offers solid wood, modular beds and accessories for toddlers to teens that are colorful, functional and flexible. The FLEXA system allows users to convert a twin bed into a bunk bed or a loft bed, with the ability to add in a kid-sized desk, book shelves, a dresser and as much storage as desired. Everything that FLEXA builds is modular and interchangeable. Its popular among buyers who want quality furniture to grow with their children through the years by simply adding various parts to current systems.

An environmentally friendly company, FLEXA only uses solid Nordic pine from sustainable forests in Northern Europe - approved by organizations conscious of their eco-responsibility, such as the Forestry Stewardship Council. The FSC is an independent, non-governmental, not-for-profit organization established to promote the responsible management of the world's forests.

The FLEXA founders were 'green' before their time. For decades, FLEXA has maintained environmentally conscious manufacturing practices. It recently purchased a Russian forest, which is about half the size of Connecticut. This has allowed the company to replenish and use its own trees for its furniture. In addition, FLEXA has always been eco-conscious at its factories in Estonia. All the scrap wood and saw dust from FLEXA's production is used for re-heating. They are compressed into fuel pellets, which are then sold to thermal power stations in Scandinavia. Fuel pellets are a zero emission energy source.
